Live Eye Tv Episode 14

1956

Live Eye Tv is back this month with another heavy helping of Rock-N-Roll, and we kick-start this episode with the Northwest’s kings of the wild and heavy, Akimbo. Having released several epic albums on labels like Seventh Rule Recordings, and Dopamine Records, Akimbo’s newest album Forging Steel and Laying Stone was hand-picked by Jello Biafra to be on Alternative Tentacles. With this newest album, the band lays to waste all mundane realms of rock and leaves a pummeled and smoldering landscape for all future metalhead wannabes that will follow. Check out Episode 5 for more Akimbo!!

Also up this month, Chicago’s own masters of modern metal, Pelican, have a chat with Live Eye Tv’s Karrie Gaylord before their June ’06 visit to Neumos in Seattle. The band continues to push the boundaries of this genre using instrumental explorations to highlight it’s most intense realms. Continuing to venture forth from their deep sea origins, Pelican soars into the deep dark starry night on their newest full length,The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw. Guitarist Laurent Lebec and drummer Larry Herwig lay it down, discussing the bands continuing evolution from its earlier, massive sonic journeys to the more recent triumphs into hyper-space. This footage also includes a new work, yet to be recorded, offering outstanding evidence of this bands organic, experimental approach to it’s compositions. Look into the future, yo!

And with the show only half over it seems the sonic punishment has just begun…Green Milk From The Planet Orange continue their assault on the USA with insane visions of mind smoldering madness all the way from Japan, man. Unrelenting touring and super human sonic prowess have built this three piece band into a titanic force of prog punk mayhem! Their home away from home in Seattle, WA is The Funhouse, and the band continues to grow its reputation for legendary musical abandon, so get your ass outta the house and see what the noise is about…Oh yeah, also an old clip from Mr. Jon Dwyer’s garage unit, Coachwhips! You know you love it…
