Silk Road Assassins are a UK-based production trio that consists of members Chemist, Tom E. Vercetti, and Lovedr0id, and the team will release their debut EP Reflection Spaces on April 15th via Planet Mu. The group gets associated with the instrumental grime scene, and in a recent interview with Complex UK they cited fellow producers like Bine, Glocque and Gregar for injecting a slower pace into their style. “Vectors” is the first cut the crew finished together, and, as they explain, “The concept of combining the slow, leaned out vibe of those artists with the production style of grime was the main influence behind the track.” The cut’s trap bell melody is slowed to a syrupy pace here, and in so doing more negative space is opened up, shrouding “Vectors” in a cinematic atmosphere of tension and melancholy.
