John Carpenter has a new video for his track “Utopian Facade” off Lost Themes II out this year on Sacred Bones. Produced and directed by Gavin Hignight and Ben Verhulst–also responsible for Carpenter’s “Night” video–this new offering follows a beautiful android unit as she attempts to deliver a mysterious, glowing package that contains “Utopian Facade.” Traveling across a dark wooded landscape with blood drooling zombies and googly-eyed aliens in hot pursuit, this noir tale mixes sci-fi with good ol’ fashioned horror for a video sure to keep you on the edge of your seats. Discussing the visuals, Gavin Hignight explains:
“We were instantly haunted upon hearing “Utopian Fa?ade”. It conjured images of jagged tree branches, dark woods and things that go bump in the night. Our goal was to explore these feelings combined with the visuals of the electronic synth driven world established in the “Night”‘ video from the prior album. An android’s nightmare is what culminated.”
