The Swedish trio Monolord dished up some ultra heavy doom metal on their Lord of Suffering/Die In Haze 10″ out last year on RidingEasy Records. This performance footage for “Lord Of Suffering” was shot on a Go-Pro during the band’s 2016 European tour, and later edited by Spelljammer’s Niklas Olsson. Displaying tightly wrought power, bassist Mika Häkki, drummer Esben Willems, and guitarist/vocalist Thomas Jäger attack their material with a well-honed physicality that yields devastating results. Built from densely textured low-end and pummeling percussion, Jäger’s vocals and guitar weave a seductive spell through this cut’s massive darkness.
