Com Truise‘s track “Memory” is the lead single off his upcoming LP Iteration due out June 16th via Ghostly International. This will be LA-based producer Seth Haley‘s first long-player since 2012’s In Decay (Ghostly), and in talking about his progression since that release, he says: “I put more air, more breathing room in the music–that was the big change.”
Though “Memory” is painted with a broad palette, it employs its’ varying sonic elements with a deft touch. Haley’s sense of nostalgia gleams thru the eyes-dilated synth melody which opens this track as a deep bass funk bubbles to the surface like melting butterscotch. Occasionally, a barely articulate voice can be heard echoing thru the mix, while Haley orchestrates neon-tinged synth-lines into cloudy blooms. When a computerized voice ends the cut by declaring, “I’m finally free of your memory,” it feels revelatory.
