Listen: The Scaners “Abduction”

Traveling from the year 2077, The Scaners have arrived in Lyon, France to begin their alien takeover. Disguised as a raucous band of garage punks, this back from the future group of extra-terrestials dropped their debut self-titled LP today via this crazy consortium of labels: Dirty Water Records, Adrenalin Fix Music, Casbah Records, Dangerhouse Skylab, Teenage Hate Records, Stryckhnine Recordz and Trokson Records. Together since 2016, and featuring members of the French bands Savage Riposte and Les Barneurs–to name a few–The Scaners have already shared the stage with punk institutions like The New Bomb Turks and UK Subs.

Today we give a listen to the album’s lead track, “Abduction.” You can run, but there’s nowhere to hide from this band’s infectious punk. With drums bouncing along at a breakneck pace and a lobotomized guitar line twitching under the knife, The Scaners get right to work drilling their hooks firmly in your earholes. Singer/guitarist Pavos Ramone sounds the vocal alarm, but with nowhere to escape from the arriving UFOs, he tells us he joins them. A mid-song meltdown between guitar and organ completes the damage here, as Th Scaners unleash a death-ray of sound that just might melt your mind!
