New Music: Lorelle Meets the Obsolete ‘Corruptible Faces’ LP

The Guadalajara duo Lorelle Meets the Obsolete play a real deadly nightshade brand of psychedelia on the track “The Lonely”, off their up-coming LP Corruptible Faces, coming out February 26th on the Chicago-based label Captcha Records. Bolstered by brutal onslaughts of guitar and a murderous beat, the couple carry on like drug-sick lovers in a slow, downward spiral until the whole place catches fire and burns to the ground! It seems the duo has more than a few tricks up their billowy sleeves, though, as the Captcha Records Bandcamp page for the album also includes the hot, garage number “The In-Between”, which stumbles out of the gates on the woozy legs of a 13th Floor Elevators’ guitar riff, and Lorelle’s mysteriously buried vocals, before hooking up for some torrid, almost melodic love-making.
