Shabazz Palaces will release their joint LPs Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star and Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines via Sub Pop tomorrow. In anticipation of the event, the duo of Ishmael Butler and Tendai Maraire posted a new video for “Welcome To Quazarz“, a track off of …The Jealous Machines. The video is directed by the amazing artist Nep Sidhu, who often works in the mediums of painting, sculpture and textile, and it also features animations from Alex McLoed, glitchy analog optics by Michael Reynolds, as well as supplemental footage from Tiona Nekkia McClodden‘s Sweet Atlanta Black Simulacrum. These various streams of media are collaged into a head spinning array and combined with the use of split-screens and animating text, “Welcome To Quarzarz” will scramble your normal viewing parameters while recaliberating your visual aparatus.

You can read an official message from Shabazz Palaces regarding tomorrow’s releases after the YouTube embed below. In addition, you’ll find a list of the duo’s upcoming live dates…

We received the beams and mixed them for the youth of ourterra so that they might know that they were not alone, that the revolution of resolution was still well underway.

We saw shattered fragments of the ritual dance that sustained them even in the midst of thetechno tyranny. It’s form was fitting as they like us were shards of what was Once.

They needed To know that theQuazarian fight mirrored their own and that there was hope in both the old ways and the new.

The guild doesn’t want you to see-hear-feelthi…
