Check out a couple of excellent videos by Paul Allen’s new incarnation, Anthroprophh. Hailing from Bristol, England, Allen is part of the psychedelic cult band The Heads. Allen’s new solo album under the moniker Anthroprophh seems to pick up where The Heads (temporarily) left off. The songs from his self-titled debut keep with the Krautrock explorations in drone and spacey atmospherics, but are also explorations in stark and minimal songwriting. The songs have as much to do with texture and nuance as the fried guitars riffs. The two videos, both from the debut album, take the viewer deep into the rabbit hole of hallucinatory imagery.
