The UK producer Nick Cooke, aka Cuttooth, will be putting out a series of remixes from his recent, self-titled LP on 4 Lux, and the artist has informed us that tracks will come out over the coming months as “free/pay-what-you-want” downloads via Bandcamp, with the complete package to be issued later in the year at “a very low price”. Cuttooth will hook up with DJ Cam, Anodyne, as well as the newcomers Mr Bird and Eliza Shaddad. In addition, Cooke teams up with SwamiMillion for this remix of “Old Tape Machine” featuring the highly talented Japanese vocalist Kiki Hitomi of King Midas Sound. SwamiMillion is the UK production duo Si Williams and Will Horrocks, and they also comprise two-thirds of the much lauded production team LV. Without disturbing too much of the original track’s haunted and gauzy dreamscape, the duo add more substantial drum and snare to the cut, as well as far out vocal manipulations, for another perspective on “Old Tape Machine”‘s laid back and gorgeous ambience.
