New Track: Majeure “Romance Language”

1199

When the Pittsburg multi-instrumentalist A.E. Paterra isn’t drumming for Zombi, his space rock duo with the bass/synth player Steve Moore, he works on his solo project Majeure, and the artist’s upcoming EP Romance Language is due out November 12th via Temporary Residence as a limited edition, vinyl-only release. A lunar elegance hangs over Paterra’s work as Majeure, and while the musician’s efforts with Zombi are rhythm oriented, for his solo project these elements seem more sublimated into the music’s cinematic and ambient structures. On the track “Romance Language“, Paterra weaves a cosmic composition around an arpeggiating synth line, but, then, a third of the way in, a howling, deep-space wind blows thru with an obliterating tone-ray, before it normalizies into a simple, human-handed rhythm. Look for Majeure to play a series of East coast dates with Mono in November. In addition, Zombi will tour later in the month, and into December, with Goblin…
