The UK trio Darkstar will release their second remix EP this year. Look for HD7, the follow-up to 01484, to come out November 26th via Warp Records. In anticipation, today we take a preview of things to come with the Kollaps remix of “You Don’t Need A Weatherman“. Kollaps is the outstanding British producer Zomby, working alongside his Cult Music project. For this rare remix effort, he pulls the original track thru a strange dream hole as he dismantles it into upward currents of dense, yellow fog. While atmospheric qualities abound, including James Buttery‘s original vocals deflated into windy whispers, Zomby’s beats are crisp bone-snapping Jungle bursts!
“You Don’t Need A Weatherman” is off Darkstar’s excellent 2013 LP News From Nowhere out now on Warp. If you live in the UK, look for the band to play a headline show at London’s Corsica Studios on December 4th!
