Wooden Shjips new video for “Everybody Knows” reveals that sabbats of ultra fashionable females still meet deep in the woods for dubious goings-on! Directed by the filmmaker Austin Will, and featuring Oregon’s horse whisper Zia Reato, the video follows an impossibly well-clad band of women into the foggy forest as they engage in some vaguely mystical pursuits. While it’s easy to poke fun at the video’s overly stylized nostalgia, “Everybody Knows” was beautifully shot by Trent Ludwig, and it not only features gorgeous coastal imagery, but the amazing close-up footage of Reato and her horse, capturing their intimate communication, provides some excellent visual echoes for this track’s moving emotional register. Wooden Shjips have tour dates in the US and Europe thru March, so don’t miss them below.
