Today we have a new video from Bill Callahan for the track “Javelin Unlanding“, from his ultra-lovely 2013 LP Dream River, out now on Drag City. Directed by Hanly Banks and Chris Rusch, the video uses several animation strategies, but is most notable for featuring Callahan as it’s moon-faced protagonist. “Javelin Unlanding” is full of the kind of lively lyrical twists and turns that we’ve come to expect from the singer/guitarist, as he expertly weaves everyday observations into his erotically charged existential meditations, and, as always, that bone-dry voice of his, with it’s earthy minerality, is refreshingly soul-quenching! Bill Callahan leaves for a short tour of Europe and the UK next month, so check out the dates after the video embed…
