Benjamin John Power of Fuck Buttons returns this year with his solo project Blanck Mass. The musician will release his Dumb Flesh LP on May 12th via Sacred Bones. Today we check out the video for “Dead Format” directed by the Scottish musician and graphic artist Tom Scholefield (aka Konx-Om-Pax).
Discussing the video he explains that he was, “…inspired by 80s body horror and video nasties by the likes of Cronenberg and Hellraiser. The video is a stream of consciousness in a nightmare world of psychedelic flesh and gore.” Indeed, using a style that blurs the dimensions between computer generated imagery and filmed media, Scholefield’s haunting and abstracted visuals seem to hang on the edge of the known world to create the kind of experience that leaves you in a continuous perceptual limbo as to just just what you’re seeing!
