Evan Caminiti of Barn Owl has a stellar new solo LP, Meridian, out now via Thrill Jockey. This week the musician released this video for his track “Arc“, directed by the Montreal based visual artist Sabrina Ratté. Caminiti’s ambient leaning creations are textured and abstract, encouraging the kind of hypnagogic revery that Ratté does so well. Here she composites beds of glitched static and glowing shapes that morph in time with Caminiti’s bass and percussion driven electronics, creating a far-out visual logic totally in keeping with Caminiti’s sonic tact on the track.
Evan Caminiti will play tomorrow night, July 3rd, at Trans-Pecos in Brooklyn, NY with Circuit des Yeux. This will be a rare opportunity to see the artist perform his solo material live, so don’t miss it!
