This fall we will have more from Ben Chasney‘s Hexadic Systems, as Six Organs of Admittance will be releasing Hexadic II on November 20th via Drag City. Today we listen to “Exultation Wave“, the second track off the upcoming release. Baroque, tangled lines of guitar weave their thorny and knotted tendrils around this florid cut, as Chasney leads what sounds like a solemn chorus of voices thru the wave. There’s a formidable beauty here, and the intoned vocals animate the track with an organic quality that centers around the breath; but step up to examine the “Exultation Wave” more closely, and it reveals itself to be quite the barbed briar.
