“Thirty-nine to beam up”. LA thrash trio Zig Zags delve into the twisted cult world of Heavens Gate in this mega-creepy new video for their track, “They Came For Us“. Jessica Hundley returns to do the directing here and she combines news reel and documentary footage of the millenarian group with shots of a masked man preparing his last meal. The video includes chilling imagery from inside the cult’s San Diego compound, as well as time-capsule footage of the group in the days before their mass suicide in March of 1997. You can find “They Came For Us” on Zig Zags’ 2016 LP Running Out of Red (Castle Face Records), recorded with Chris Woodhouse (Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, Wand) at The Dock in Sacramento CA.
