Lea Bertucci has a new track entitled “Warp And Weft” off her upcoming LP Resonant Field due out July 19th via NNA Tapes. The follow-up to her excellent 2018 LP Metal Aether, the newest effort continues the artist’s site-specific electro-acoustic explorations of physical space thru sound. While Metal Aether found Bertucci in a variety of locals around the world, Resonant Field was recorded at the Marine A Grain Elevator in Buffalo, New York.

The decommissioned site is filled with large cast concrete cylinders measuring approximately 18 feet wide and 130 feet tall. Cavernous, the place naturally creates 12 seconds of delay. Using a micro-tonal approach on her alto sax to activate the dormant space, Lea Bertucci recorded her improvised sessions at the grain elevator. Returning to the studio, the composer added field recordings, tape manipulation, and additional collaborative instrumentation to create her new four track release.

“Warp And Weft” is our newest listen in on the upcoming album. Using her sax to create a very pure sound stream of third eye blasting tone, the musician creates a head buzzing atmosphere of resonating harmonics. By the track’s end, trilling notes and additional ambiance make for a moving tribute to this once monumental place.
