Interestingly, David Lynch has ceded directorial duties to Lykke Li in the video for their new single “I’m Waiting Here“. After the insanity that was “Crazy Clown Time“, maybe that’s a good thing. Li partners with Daniel Desure for a streamlined but remarkably engaging video, considering the concept’s simplicity. A car enters the highway, and with the camera presumably mounted on the hood of the vehicle, delivers stark, beautiful open road panoramas as it drives thru dusk into the night. At times the car veers slowly towards the road’s center line, straddling it to drive down the middle of the highway, and with little to do but watch the passing landscape and listen to Ms Li’s captivating voice, one finds oneself pondering the “lines” in life..and soon a simple idea gets real deep!
