Lace Curtain is an excellent new project from Australia’s Mikey Young, and the trio also includes Dave West and James Vinciguerra. Active in other punk and post-punk projects like Eddy Current, Total Control, Suppression Ring, and Rat Columns, Lace Curtain finds the trio exploring propulsive, moody electronic music thru an amalgam of genres including new wave, techno, and synth pop. Lace Curtain’s Falling/Running 12″ is out now on Mexican Summer, and today the trio released a new video for “Falling” directed by the band’s Dave West and Daniela Velickovic. Utilizing a variety of natural footage, as well as staged footage of the band shot in a studio, West and Velickovic weave the organic in with the synthesized utilizing creative split screens, and even broken mirrors, to present the material.
