Shabazz Palaces dip back into to 2011’s excellent LP Black Up (Sub Pop) with this menacing new video for an “An Echo from the Hosts that Profess Infinitum“, directed by Joris Grelet. Everything about this track is unsettling and Gelet’s portraits of highly stylized assassins wielding swords, daggers, and molotov cocktails is right on. Conjuring up the mystical assassin Hassan i Sabah, or maybe even something more current like Egypt’s young anarchic faction Black Bloc, the video is the perfect visual counter-part for Ishmael Butler and Tendai Maraire‘s eery cut! Shabazz Palaces have up-coming tour dates in Singapore, Viet Nam, and China before returning to Seattle to play Sub Pop’s Silver Jubilee on July 13th! Check the dates out below.
