Mount Kimbie hooks up with the Swedish director Marcus Soderlund for the excellent new video “You Took Your Time (feat. King Krule)“. The track is on the duo’s Warp Records release Cold Spring Fault Less Youth out this past May. For the video Soderlund weaves a spell-binding dramatic sense by unfolding scenes that seem to hang on the verge of just happening. The result is a sense of mystery as one wonders just how all these characters and pieces of story might relate!
Also of note is King Krule‘s vocal delivery on the track. The artist Archy Marshall has performed under several monikers including Zoo Kid and DJ JD Sports, but here King Krule provides a riveting listen that comes across like a rapped version of punk poetry full of grit and menace. Mount Kimbie kicks off their US tour in September and will play the Decibel Festival on the 27th of that month, so don’t miss the dates below!
