Our favorite hirsute troubadour Kurt Vile will release his new 7-song it’s a big world out there (and i am scared) EP on November 19th via Matador. The limited edition vinyl 12″ will include this shady and languid navel gazer, “Feel My Pain“, which features some florid finger picking from Mr. Vile! He reports that the track was recorded in May of 2012 at Dreamland Studios, sessions that also produced “wakin on a pretty day“, off the Wakin’ On A Pretty Daze (Matador) LP, and he explains,
“Feel My Pain” is a particularly meticulous guitar composition that i remember playing over and over back when writing it and then even more so when i had finished it, sort-of possessed. We added a lot to this later only to strip it back again favoring the raw to the chamber-pop this go ’round.”
All seven tracks on the 12″ will also be included as a bonus disc on Kurt Vile’s upcoming 2XCD, Wakin On A Pretty Daze: Deluxe Daze (Post Haze), which will also come out November 19th on Matador. In addition, look for Kurt Vile to play a bunch of live dates in the US and Europe throughout the Fall and into December, so check the dates below.
