In Rose Windows new video for “Heavenly Days” a news commentator wonders, “End of times?”, as familiar statues like Russia’s Mother Motherland and the Statue of Liberty come to life. Director Owen Cook throws everything into the thematic stew here, with Soviet reporters fretting over Gay Marriage and the apocalypse, as Motherland and Liberty share some tongue time. Heck, Cook even includes claymation in the video, depicting two of Easter Island’s monolithic Moai gentlemen getting hitched! Heavenly days indeed!! You’ll find this lovely little number on Rose Windows’ summer LP Sun Dogs, out now on Sub Pop.
