Whence last we saw thee Oozing Wound, they were busy giving us a case of photosensitive epilepsy with their seizure inducing video for “Welcome To The Spaceship, Motherfucker“. Today the Chicago trio utters those magic words that have initiated many an “ill-fated” nocturnal adventure, “Call Your Guy”! The track opens with a broken speaker bass-line, as it stumbles down the hallway for the party room, before performing a perfect face plant and waking up in Thrash Heaven. “Call Your Guy” does some sick and demented shredding, running over six minutes, while imbibing a toxic mix of sludge, trash, speed, and grunge! Not for the lite partier, Oozing Wound’s Retrash LP is out now on Thrill Jockey…The visuals, here, are directed by Joe Martinez Jr., and they feature an epic, all-night session of shot gunned beers and weed, while singer/guitarist Zack Weil, bassist Kevin Cribbin, and drummer Kyle Reynolds throw down in front of a back-drop of eye melting, kaleidoscopic images. Don’t miss Cribbin’s catatonic zombie meltdown towards the middle, there, as it’s one of the video’s high points, so to speak.
