Locrian released a video today for their track “Return to Annihilation“, which is off the band’s outstanding album of the same name, out now on Relapse. The video was directed by the Italian musician and artist Francesca Marongiu, who is known for her work in the occult-leaning doom metal projects Architeuthis Rex and Agarttha. Here she combines images of natural and urban landscapes, and using psychedelic mirroring effects, kaleidoscopic arrangements, and visual twitches that pulse with the beat, Marongiu is able to create an amazing visual language that, while all her own, is a perfect accompaniment to Locrian’s deeply mythic vision and Black Mass sonics!
