Listen: United Nations “Serious Business”

615

When United Nations aren’t busy scaring the neighbors, trampling on trademark issues, having their Facebook and MySpace pages removed, they are busy making volatile scream-core of the highest order! Led by Geoff Rickly, former vocalist for the band Thursday, United Nation’s additional members are often shadowy rumors due to contract obligations with other labels, and a press photo for the band has shown them all wearing Ronald Reagan masks to hide their identity. On July 15th United Nations will release The Next Four Years LP via Temporary Residence Ltd., and the tracks represent the band’s first new recordings since 2010’s Never Mind The Bombings, Here’s Your Six Figures 7″ on Deathwish Inc. “Serious Business” is battle ready, laying waste to sentimental notions of what hardcore and punk should be, and it uses hyper-speed drumming, as well as hammered and shredded riff-shards, to create a massive sonic wall, while Rickly’s vocals add one more gut-wrenching layer to the explosive mix!
