Watch: K. Leimer “Lonely Boy”

552

K. Leimer‘s exceptional 2xLP A Period of Review (Original Recordings: 1975-1983) is out now via RVNG Intl., and it culls together 30 previously unheard tracks from the pioneering artist’s amazing oeuvre. Leimer’s ambient and experimental work is not widely known, with much of it being released via the label that he ran with his wife, Palace of Lights; but for this collection, RVNG Intl. has chosen to focus on material that the artist has never released before, revealing the true depth and breadth of his extraordinary career. The video for “Lonely Boy” finds Weird Days’ directer Ben Schechter tag teaming with Raw Tings’ Tony Lowe, for this whimsical portrait of a young recluse starring MGMT drummer Will Berman. The often playful quality to Leimer’s music is on display here, and Schechter and Lowe suss it out with a breakfast of blue eggs, sad sausage, and some strange, spiny fruit.
