Today we take a listen to R. Seiliog‘s track “Velcro For Vortex“, off his upcoming debut LP In Hz, due out December 2nd via Turnstile. The work of Robin Edwards, this Welsh musician/producer draws inspiration from heady sources such as: electro-acoustics, the pioneering electronic composer and musical theorist Pierre Schaeffer, as well as explorations into how art and science meet in the making of music. With that said though, Edward’s output is in no way burdened by such conceptual weight, as evidenced by this left-of-field club bumper! “Velcro For Vortex” follows a gentle but insistent ascension via a 4/4 rhythm and the gradual swell of a carillon of bells, before adding buoyant drones of sub-bass. About a third of the way into this spacious, ambient cut, Edwards drops a ’90’s house vibe, but it remains sublimated in the foggy sonics, passing thru a seizure of wind blasted sound, before busting out the other side of the break with it’s vintage demeanor bearing the perfect fade!
