Watch: Elastic Sleep “SLIP”

The Irish shoegaze quintet Elastic Sleep released their excellent new single “SLIP” this week via Big Tea Records, as well as these hypnotic visuals for the cut, directed by their friends Patrick Sheahan and Emmet O Riabhaigh. Making the most of a simple set-up, the video features singer Muireann Levis, backed by an all-female band, and it fluctuates between this “performance” footage, and more abstract, color treated close-ups that twitch and stutter. “SLIP” is the follow-up to the band’s awesome 2014 EP Leave You (Big Tea Records), and the track alternates between brooding bass and drum driven intervals, guided by Levis’ angelic vocals, and harsher patches of battering, aggressive sonics. The resulting celestial whiplash is well worth the brief infirmity!
