La Luz released their fantastic sophomore effort, the Ty Segall-produced LP Weirdo Shrine, this month via Hardly Art. Today we check out the Seattle band’s new video for “Black Hole, Weirdo Shrine” directed by the animator/illustrator Meghan Tryon. Her boldly stroked drawing style might also be recognizable from Mac DeMarco‘s “Blue Boy” video, or Wand‘s “Flying Golem”–which found her teamed up with fellow animator Garrett M. Davis. Psychedelic to the max, this newest work has a Chuck Jones meets El Topo vibe and it features a naked cowgirl and battling brujas in an awesomely drawn spaghetti western on mescaline.
