We always look forward to new work from the outstanding animator Milton Melvin Croissant III. Today we watch his cyberdelic new video for the track “Baited“, by Baltimore synth-pop duo Chiffon. Immense craft and vision, not to mention computing power, must to go into whatever Milton creates. Here, Chiffon members Amy Reid and Chase O’Hara are assembled from their digital origins into transformer-like robots, before they pilot their vintage convertible across space/time. The artist’s highly stylized vision of the future is intricately rendered in this video’s gleaming, neon-tinged surfaces, moody interiors, and fantastic skies; but the real accomplishment seems to be his ability to transfer Reid and O’Hara’s very human qualities to their amazing animated forms.
