Listen: Mikael Delta “The Strongest Light”

488

The Greek composer and electronic artist Mikael Delta is getting set to release his Life is Now LP on October 26th via Inner Ear. Delta began his career as a founding member of the band Stereo Nova, until the group disbanded in 1997, and he began to forge his own path across notable solo releases like 2001’s Halcyon Days (French Distance) or 2006’s Forbidden Poetry (EMI). Delta’s tracks have also been featured on compilations like “Café Del Mar” and DJ Ravin’s “Buddha Bar“. Look for Life Is Now to feature eleven tracks composed, arranged, and produced by Delta with musicians Nikos Veliotis (cello), Hristos Lainas (guitars, metallophone), Stavros Parginos (cello) providing the instrumentation. “The Strongest Light” is a rousing offering that brilliantly mixes the band’s “classical” instruments, like strings and piano, with techno’s driving rhythms. The production on this track feels wide open in the best of ways, lending it an electrically charged atmosphere that, by the cut’s end, teams with dynamic, urban energy.
