Portland’s SOFT KILL will release their upcoming LP Savior on May 11th via Profound Lore Records. AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:
While returning from touring their critically lauded 2015 effort Choke, frontman Tobias Grave’s pregnant wife began to bleed out while still eight months pregnant. Far from any hospital, the band drove through the night in a desperate attempt to reach the UC Davis Trauma Center in Sacramento where emergency surgery was performed to save both mother and child. Though the surgery was a success, Grave’s new son Dominick suffered a lung collapse on his second day of life. The young boy was saved with the help of blood transfusions and feeding/breathing tubes as the musician held vigil over the succeeding days and months. To pass the time, Grave purchased a guitar and borrowed a bass from a friend so that he could begin writing the music that would become Soft Kill’s fifth LP, Savior. Ultimately recorded and mixed at Kingsize Sudios in Los Angeles, the album was produced by Benjamin Greenberg (Uniform, The Men, Algiers).
