Today Jon Spencer announced he will release his first solo album Spencer Sings the Hits! early this Fall on In the Red Records. The Blues Explosion wild man and former member of legendary act Pussy Galore, not to mention bands like Boss Hog and Heavy Trash, is back and ready to inject a fresh shot of noise and shake appeal into the withered libido of Rock & Roll. The upcoming album was recorded with Bill Skibbe at the Key Club in Benton Harbor, MI and it finds Spencer teamed up with the musicians Sam Coomes (Quasi, Heatmeiser) and M. Sord (M. Sord).

Do The Trash Can” is our first listen in on the upcoming effort and it reveals the Garage Rock veteran is still in prime form. Peelin’ out of the gates with a blood-curdling scream and slinky beat, this track throbs with gobs of dirty low-end and Spencer’s inimitable vocal delivery. The visuals for the cut collage together a sex-fueled melange of B-grade horror, with plenty of bikini-clad beauties and brain-eating zombies thrown in for good measure. “Bing, bang, boom,” the Blues man is back!

Look for Jon Spencer to hit the road in late July to play headlining dates as well as shows in support of the Melvins. You can check the tour schedule after the YouTube embed below, and word has it more shows will be added in the future…
