Today we visit North America via the UK with this new single called “My Baby’s No One’s Girl” from the East London-based quintet. Comprised of frontman P.F. Phillip, guitarists Gabe Coulter and Jack Rennie, bassist Sandro Giacometti, and drummer Sam Roberts, North America met at the cities’ Metropolis Studios. Bonding over a mutual love for “trashy American comedies and questionable pizza joints,” the band formed in 2017.

Following their recent main stage support this summer for the Lightning Seeds at the Create Festival in the UK, the five-piece is getting ready to head into the studio to record their debut EP. In the meantime, we have this excellent new single called “My Baby’s No One’s Girl” written and recorded by the band themselves. The group’s facility for stellar production is on full display here as well as their ability to craft infectious pop. With lilting guitars leading the way down a breezy path, P.F. Phillip’s romantic retrospections turn bittersweet as he recounts:

“One Sunday night she said goodbye/And now she sleeps on the wrong side of someone’s bed.”

But, if you’re that “someone,” Philip just wants you to know, “she’s no one’s girl.”
