Listen: Fascinating “Don’t Ruin My High”

The Cleveland-based four-piece Fascinating deliver power-pop straight out of the gutter on their upcoming LP Communist Power due out September 7th via Dirty Water Records. Led by the cities prolific guitarist/singer/songwriter Ricky Hamilton, who also plays in groups like Ricky Hell and the Voidboys, Pig Flayer, and The Sight, as well as running the label Quality Time Records, is joined by Voidboys members bassist Carter Luckfield and guitarist Adam Spektor, as well as the drummer Marty Brass.

Recorded straight to tape over a two day period in 2017 by the Cleveland-based engineer/producer/musician Paul Maccarrone at Zombie Proof Studio, Communist Power follows up on the group’s 2017 release, Picture This (Quality Time Records, Jurassic Pop). Today we check out Fascinating’s first single off the upcoming LP, “Don’t Ruin My High.” Burning out of the gate on the strength of a super-charged guitar hook and a barreling rhythm section, this cut delivers plenty of garage-fueled brawn across its scant run-time of just over two minutes. Rough and raw around the edges, Hamilton and the boys are free in their mind, so man, don’t ruin the high!
