Melbourne’s Money For Rope are readying their third LP Picture Us for release on March 8th via Cheersquad Records & Tapes. The album, first conceived while the band was hanging out in London, was home recorded back in Australia, and entirely self-produced, mixed and mastered by the five piece. Discussing the record, Money For Rope’s guitarist/vocalist Jules McKenzie explains:

“When we arrived back home, we didn’t tell anyone we had returned. We went to a family property out of town, beside the ocean, and made this record. The house became involved. And the songs were written with reverence for that landscape: Port Philip Bay and the Southern Ocean. We wanted guitars to be keyboards, keyboards to be saturation, and drums to be folded over into themselves like tape worn away–like rocks eroding by the relentless southerlies blowing the ocean onto the land.”

Actually” is a new listen in on the upcoming record and it comes complete with these nifty visuals for the track. Photographed by the band and David Barrioquinto, the still frame-visuals were edited by Money For Rope’s drummer Erik Scerba. Borrowing their buddy Jack’s room for the shoot while he was out running errands, hopefully the lads cleaned up a little when they left.
