Today we meet The Man From Managra. The project of Greek-Italian musician, composer, sound engineer, and producer Coti K. (Costantino Luca Rolando Kiriakos), the artist has been active since the mid-80’s. Besides releasing music under the monikers The Man From Managra and Coti K., he has played in bands like Film Noir, In Trance 95, RAW, and Mohammad, as well as composing film and theater works for directors like Dimitris Papaioannou and Yorgos Lanthimos.

The musician launched The Man From Managra in 2014 to capture the more song-based side of his production, and today he released the project’s third LP King Time via Inner Ear Records. “Set Sail” is an evocatively tuneful cut showcasing Coti K.’s richly toned vocals. With an ebullient keyboard line providing an initial rhythmic pulse and further propelled by crisply delivered but breezy drum elements, the track ultimately sets out for deep waters. While Coti K.’s voice is irresistibly warm and the melody rousing, “Set Sail” sure seems to bear a world-weary burden.
