Listen: Blood Cultures “No Favors”

Blood Cultures dropped a new track this week entitled “No Favors” off their upcoming sophomore LP Oh Uncertainty! A Universe Despairs out on September 13th. We last heard from the enigmatic bedroom-pop project this past June when they released the track “Best For You,” as well as an artist’s manifesto. Citing anonymity as an aesthetic strategy, Blood Cultures explained:

“We choose to be the blank canvas. We want our listeners to find their own significance in the pieces by looking inwardly and seeking the answers within themselves rather than from us…”

No Favors” is steeped in the kind of narcotic wobble that will have you seeing double. Locked in a bleary, slow dance groove to begin, with vocals that sound woozy and slightly bruised, this cut’s head spinning quality is only accentuated by its’ ability to switch gears from psycho-activated R&B to an intoxicated House vibe. So, light up a Nat Sherman, put on your dancing shoes, and enjoy.

Blood Cultures will play select live dates beginning this November. You can find a complete list after the YouTube embed below.
