Kim Gordon has a new video for the track “Sketch Artist” off her upcoming solo debut LP No Home Record due out October 11th via Matador Records. We last heard from Gordon in June of 2018 when her project with Bill Nace, Body/Head, was getting ready to release their LP The Switch. “Sketch Artist” finds the former Sonic Youth co-founder continuing to expand her style into exciting new territory.
The track’s channel changing approach to composition makes it feel like it was built on a sequencer while its’ rumbling blasts of bass wobble round out that vibe. Meanwhile, Gordon’s vocal delivery adds a haunting and eery dimension. The video for the track was directed by Loretta Fahrenholz and it features Abbi Jacobson as a passenger in Gordon’s “Unter” ride.
