Asfast is the Vienna-based experimental electronic musician Leon Leder. The artist will follow-up his 2018 LP release „Altar“ (Amen Records) with a new long-player entitled „The Prime Same“ due out January 31st via Denovali Records. His first release for the label, the effort finds Leder continuing to explore searing soundscapes that hover between Deconstructed Club Music and Dark Ambient. Not for the faint of heart, „The Prime Same“ is laced throughout with gripping tension and barely contained sonic violence.
“Moon” is the sixth track from the collection and it rolls in like an eerie midnight fog. While Leder’s sounds often smear and soar with brute gestural force, here they shimmer with a dark majesty as though soundtracking some aphotic ritual from the nether realms. Meanwhile, traditional rhythmic elements have been reduced to frenetic rumbles of thunder seeming to emit from deep below the surface or ear-ripping peals that slice the night air with frightening motion.
