Helena Deland returns with a gorgeous new track and visualizer for “Truth Nugget” from the Montreal-based singer-songwriter’s upcoming debut LP Someone New out October 16th on Luminelle Recordings. Following up on the album’s title track as well as the initial single “Lylz,” Deland’s new song features rich production and her knack for arresting lyrics.

While the track addresses how the artist experiences her personal sense of guardedness as “part of how I perform my gender,” she cryptically adds, “‘Truth Nugget’ is about the distance that exists even between the closest people and how friendship involves nurturing the other’s solitude.”

The new track is accompanied by a visualizer from Félix Marquis-Poulin. Depicting a stone fountain bathed by moonlight in a dark patch of woods, the musician explains, “The fountain in a forest at night is what came to mind based on the sounds of the song, but metaphorically it stands as something beautiful, private feeling and reassuring that you stumble upon unexpectedly, familiar but exciting, the way friendship can be.”
