Father John Misty has a new video for “Funtimes In Babylon“, off last year’s Fear Fun LP (Sub Pop). Directed by Josh Tillman himself, and done in collaboration with Grant James of Milkt Films, the video was shot in VHS on a 30-foot jib arm on the Universal Studios “War of the Worlds” set! James says of the video, “It was fun to explore the outdated medium of VHS and allow the video to play out with slower edits and uncomfortable shots that let the setting breathe with the song.” In “Funtimes In Babylon” a still dapper, but visibly distraught Tillman tours the smoking wreckage of a plane disaster, finds a pack of smokes in a discarded jacket, and even dances a little jig on the mangled fuselage, before collapsing in despair…Need more Misty?
