Fans of The Von Bondies explosive, Detroit-flavored post punk will definitely want to take a listen to guitarist/vocalist Jason Stollsteimer‘s new project, The Hounds Below. The group finds Stollsteimer hooking up with Will Shattuck on drums/vocals, as well as Adam Michael Lee Padden on bass/vocals, and the trio is currently on the road for something deliciously called the Pizza Tour 2014! Playing over thirty shows from coast to coast over the next two months, the Pizza Tour finds The Hounds Below still touring in support of their You Light Me Up In The Dark LP, out now on Slimstyle Records, but the band also promises a bunch of new material, with Stollsteimer reporting, …though the new material still has strong melodic hooks, its shaping up to be more aggressive sounding than even my work in The Von Bondies. The Pizza Tour 2014 will also include the band’s first West coast dates, and while there’s not a stop yet planed for Seattle, the band’s publicist says more may be forthcoming…so keep your fingers crossed!
