The New Pornographers will return on August 25th with their new LP Brill Bruisers (Matador), the band’s first since 2010’s Together LP. Today we take a look at the first video from the upcoming album, “War On The East Coast“, directed by Thom Glunt. Here, he follows the band’s Carl Newman and Dan Bejar with a long tracking shot as they exit their car and walk on foot thru smoke filled streets, while random chaos and mayhem ensues! Newman explains:
We were going for some mid nineties second tier brit pop attitude. In the past, Ive never really wanted to be in the video. But with this, we wanted to have fun and fully be IN the video.
The New Pornographers will play the Pemberton Music Festival in BC this coming Saturday, and the band has a fairly extensive US tour planned for the Fall. You can check those dates after the video…
