Blondes released their Persuasion EP this month via RVNG Intl., and today we check out it’s title track. Sam Haar and Zach Steinman craft a minimal but exhilarating techno, here, layering propulsive and skittering rhythms over subliminal bass throb. The result creates a deep, somatic undertow that effortlessly carries this cut’s alluvial elements forward. Eventually, as “Persuasion” gains momentum, it’s various constituent elements bubble to the surface, revealing an acidic core; and when the track needs to change directions, it just follows the course of least resistance, water-like, delivering the rich sediment of Detroit techno into the wide gulf of electronic dance music.
