Last month we listened to Chelsea Wolfe‘s haunting track “Hypnos“, and now she’s directed an equally eerie music video for the song. Ophidiophobes might want to tread lightly, as Ms Wolfe once again finds herself entwined with several serpentine friends (also appearing in 2011’s “Mer” video). Let’s face it, this is daunting footage even if you’re not scared of snakes, but it’s the perfect imagery to depict this song’s epic sense of betrayal. When she sings the emotionally devastating line “He’s never going near my love again”, it speaks volumes about the kind of co-dependent relationship we might be dealing with here; and the video finds the artist appearing possibly Eve-like, enjoying her post-apple embrace. You can find this cut on the artist’s “Hypnos/Flame” 7”, as well as her Abyss LP, both due out April 1st via Sargent House.
