Ty Segall‘s “Break A Guitar” video came out today and Fred Armisen, Henry Rollins, and Jack Black all make cameos. Longtime Segall video collaborator Matt Yoka returns to do the directorial honors here. He’s also responsible for Ty’s “Emotional Mugger” and “Manipulator” videos, to name a few, and on this latest effort he breaks out all the stops.
A sweaty and drooling Fred Armisen kicks things off, quite literally, as the karate clad hero explodes a guitar with his foot. Kaleidoscopic animation of the band soon takes over, though, and it provides some seriously head-spinning visuals that include Rollins and Black. But the real fun begins when this ax grinding crew gets down to pyrotechnics, blowing up Fenders with rip-roaring glee!
You can find “Break A Guitar” on Ty Segall’s self-titled 2017 LP out now on Drag City. In addition, look for him to kick off a US tour this coming May before heading off to Europe later this summer. You can check out all the upcoming dates after the YouTube embed…
